Biogas Production from Food and Vegetable Waste

SSDFR transforms suitable food and vegetable waste into biogas through responsible segregation, recycling and biological processing.

Biogas Production from Food and Vegetable Waste

Shree Sai Damage Food Recycler Private Limited (SSDFR) transforms suitable food and vegetable waste into biogas through responsible segregation, recycling and biological processing. Based in Delhi and serving businesses across India, we help food manufacturers, hotels, restaurants, warehouses, institutions and vegetable markets manage discarded organic materials. Our services cover the assessment, segregation and management of diverse food waste streams, including damaged food, expired packaged products, kitchen leftovers, fruit peels and vegetable residues. Each waste stream is assessed before processing to identify suitable recovery options and separate unsuitable materials.

How Is Biogas Produced from Food Waste?

Biogas is a renewable fuel produced when microorganisms break down biodegradable materials without oxygen, a process called anaerobic digestion. The process begins with segregating food waste from plastic packaging, glass, metal and other contaminants. Suitable organic material is then prepared and introduced into a controlled digester. Microbial activity produces methane-rich biogas, which can support cooking, heating or electricity generation using appropriate equipment. Further purification and upgrading can produce biomethane for suitable applications. However, raw biogas is not automatically equivalent to compressed biogas or vehicle-grade fuel.

Responsible Waste Management and Resource Recovery

SSDFR’s approach prioritises segregation, efficient material recovery and responsible handling. Different waste streams require different processing conditions; heavily contaminated or chemically unsuitable materials must follow an appropriate alternative management route. The digestion process also produces digestate. After suitable treatment and testing, this material may support agricultural applications where permitted. It should not automatically be marketed as certified fertiliser without meeting applicable requirements.

Our Cosmetic Waste Recycling Process

A clear, documented pathway toward zero-landfill goals

1

Collection

We manage the structured collection of expired or damaged cosmetics directly from your client location or warehouse facilities.

2

Segregation

Products are separated cleanly into raw components: creams, lotions, makeup, plastic containers, glass bottles, and cardboard components.

3

Resource Recovery

Packaging is recycled while suitable non-hazardous materials are safely redirected into inputs for industrial cleaning formulas.

Responsible Processing and Government Guidelines

Responsible recycling requires compliance with the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016, as amended, applicable pollution-control permissions and relevant Extended Producer Responsibility requirements for plastic packaging. Waste handling should include source segregation, traceable records, safe storage and processing through appropriately registered facilities. Manufacturing must also meet applicable quality and safety requirements. Recycled material should not automatically be considered suitable for food-contact, medical or other sensitive applications.

Supporting Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

Through responsible cosmetic-waste recycling, SSDFR helps reduce landfill disposal, recover usable materials, and actively promote a circular economy. Our day-to-day operations align directly with the cleanliness and responsible waste management objectives of India's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common queries about cosmetic recycling standards

Many PET, HDPE, LDPE and PP products can be recycled, depending on contamination, composition and available processing facilities. Acceptance requires material assessment.

Suitable plastic is sorted, cleaned, shredded and processed into flakes or granules, which manufacturers use to produce compatible new products.

No. Mixed materials, heavy contamination and certain multilayer structures can limit recyclability. These materials need assessment for an appropriate management route.

No. EPR compliance depends on applicable registration, eligible processing, reporting and valid documentation. A collection receipt alone does not establish compliance.
